American roulette — 38 pockets, single and double zero

How a round works

Place chips on the table while betting is open, then the wheel spins and the ball settles in one of 38 pockets. Every bet covering that number pays out; everything else is lost.

The wheel

38
An American wheel carries the numbers 1 to 36 alternating red and black, plus the green 0 and 00. Because of the two zeros the house edge is 5.26% on every bet except the five-number bet, where it is 7.89%.

Reading the table

Chips placed inside a number pay the most and win the least often. Chips on a line between numbers split the stake across every number that line touches.
